Swissturn/USA machine shop history – Swiss screw machining in Massachusetts
Swissturn/USA was started in Waltham, Mass. former home of one of the world's former great watch manufacturers, the Waltham Watch Co. In fact, Swissturn's founder John Mandile was a graduate of the Waltham Watch Co. watchmaking school. In a case of bad timing, he graduated just as the Waltham Watch Company was closing down. However, his experience in working with small high precision parts gave him the knack for working on Swiss screw machining parts.

In 1987, the Swissturn/USA machine shop relocated to the Whitin Machine Works building in Whitinsville, Mass., a location with a long, proud history as the former leader in the design and manufacturing of textile equipment.

New Swissturn Location
Recent equipment upgrades in our CNC machines and the desire to continue our quest toward a "lean factory" forced us to move our Swiss screw machine company to a newer building in Oxford, Massachusetts. The new location consists of 19,000 square feet of modern manufacturing and office space.

Visitors to our Oxford facility are always impressed by the cleanliness of our CNC machines and the organization of our modern machine shop. Gone are the days of oil puddles and grease-covered machinery.
